Iraqi-born UK national found with cannabis in his shoes

Following an RGP operation into the alleged fraudulent use of credit card details an Iraqi born, British National, Yaser Mohamed was arrested by officers of the Financial Crime Unit at the Air Terminal on the 3rd May 2006.
A search of the defendant revealed a total of 95 grams of cannabis resin concealed in his shoes and a further 519 grams concealed in the lining of his hand luggage. Enquiries relating to the fraudulent use of credit card details led to the defendant facing charges of obtaining services by deception from a local hotel to the sum of ?690.25.
Further offences relating to credit card details stored on a number of mobile telephone SIM cards in Mr. Mohammed?s possession, which were intended for the use in criminal activity, were also taken into consideration by the Court.
Mr. Mohammed was sentenced to four months imprisonment in relation to the offence of Attempting to Export the cannabis resin and a further two months for the offence of Obtaining services by deception. These sentences are to run consecutively.
