Trophy for soldier who fires most gun salutes

The 'Pepe Lia' trophy, for the soldier who fires the most gun salutes in a year, has gone to Cpl Edward Bonfante.
The cup was presented to him by the regimental second-in-command Major Mario Alman.
This trophy was kindly donated by Mr Pepe Lia who served with the Royal Gibraltar Regiment for over 20 years, firstly in the Territorial Army, with the artillery, and ending his career as Sgt Major in HQ Company.
The first 'Pepe Lia' cup was awarded in the year 2000. First winner was Sgt Cortes. Other winners have been C/Sgt Ballester (2001), L/Cpl Kenyon (2002), Cpl Fa (2003) and Cpl Storey (2004).
