The Minister for Sports, Culture, Heritage and Youth, Steven Linares has sent a message of congratulations to Nathan Stagno, currently umpiring in the hockey tournament at the London Olympics. During the matches he has umpired,
Nathan has also been mentioned by TV commentators in a very positive manner.
The text of the message reads as follows:
"I would like to take the opportunity in congratulating you for your outstanding performance in the matches you have already umpired at the Olympic Games and definitely putting Gibraltar on the map once again.
"Everyone back home is extremely proud of you. This should be an example to all our sports men and women in Gibraltar that, with perseverance, they can achieve very high standards and goals.

Mr Linares has also sent a message of best wishes on behalf of the people of Gibraltar to Georgina Cassar participating at Rhythmic Gymnastics event at the London Olympics.
The text of the message reads as follows:

"I am conscious of the long hours of dedication, perseverance and training that you have put during all these months to achieve this goal.
