There is no Turk listed in frontier workers list
|
• The Turk arrested in La Linea had worked in Gibraltar for a number of years, entering the Rock on a daily basis. People who had reason to meet him at Profield Contractors, where he worked as a site manager, are able to confirm that this person exists. He is also listed in the company's website.
What is not clear is whether he was a frontier worker. Living in La Linea and working in Gibraltar would class him as a frontier worker.
Panorama has obtained the latest list of frontier workers, updated as recent as last month, and there are no Turkish nationals in it.
Was he or was he not classified as a frontier worker by Profield Con-tractors where he worked?
Whether yes or no has there been some kind of a mistake along the line? Could it be that he was not listed as Turkish. Or is it that he also had an address in Gibraltar and thus he would not be listed as a frontier worker?
The list of frontier workers which we have seen covers the period from January to June this year, and updated only last month.
This is a point that needs to be clarified.
