Walking for awareness
|

Three mental health charities, the Gibraltar Clubhouse project, the Psychological Su[pport Group and the Mental Welfare Society organised a 'walk for mental health' last Saturday.
It was a a bright and cheerful event with all the participants wearing yellow, and the Sea Scouts Bagpipe band leading the way.
The walk finished at wher Convent where David Lelliot, representing the Governor came out for a chat with the participants.
The walk then broke up, and all the participants invaded the Gladys Perez Centre for a barbecue.
Statistics show that 1 in 4 persons will suffer from some form of Mental Health problem during the course of their lives. With around 700 persons suffering from mental illness in Gibraltar today we want to continue raising awareness that "Mental Health Concerns Everyone." It could be us, our friends, colleagues neighbours or families so awareness and support is essential, say the organisers.
