Drama awards

At the Gala Night of the Gibraltar Diamond Jubilee Drama Festival held at the Ince’s Hall Theatre on Saturday, the Adjudicator, Charles Evans GODA, reached the following decision on the Awards:

BEST YOUTH PLAYER went to Michael Byrne for his role as Inspector Frederick Abberline in Mary Jane presented by the Bayside and Westside Drama Group.

BEST ORIGINAL PLAY went to Julian Felice for his play Mary Jane presented by the Bayside and Westside Drama Group.

BEST STAGE DESIGN was awarded to the International Theatre Studio for their play Happy Birthday Me.

BEST TECHNICAL PRODUCTION was awarded to Santos Productions for their production We Will Never Know.

BEST DIRECTOR was awarded to Julian Felice for his play Mary Jane presented by the Bayside and Westside Drama Group.

BEST SUPPORTING PLAYER went to Kaigan Garcia for his role as Francis Yusifredo in Too Much Make Up presented by the Bayside and Westside Drama Group.

BEST ACTRESS went to Davina Barbara for her role as Crying in Strong presented by Santos Productions.

BEST ACTOR went to Charlie Bishop for his role as Husband in Strong presented by Santos Productions.

ADJUDICATOR’S SPECIAL AWARD went to Santos Productions for their courageous performance of We Will Never Know.

FESTIVAL WINNER for the winning play was awarded to Mary Jane presented by the Bayside & Westside Drama Group.

The presentation of awards was carried out by the Minister for Culture, Steven Linares.
