Picardo urged to raise ‘high levels’ of sewage at Western Beach at meeting with La Linea mayor

With the level of raw sewage at Western Beach on a high, the Environmental Safety Group is calling on the chief minister Fabian Picardo to raise this serious issue with the La Linea mayor when they meet today.
The ESG says it continues to be 'very concerned' about the high levels of raw sewage at Western Beach. Latest figures confirm the problem is severe and needs to be dealt with.
"Given the Chief Minister is meeting with La Linea Mayor to discuss cross border issues, we urge him to please raise this issue as a matter of priority," they said.
Mrs. Gemma Araujo is paying an official visit to the Chief Minister to hold talks with the Government to discuss matters of mutual interest and ways of cross-frontier cooperation.
A joint press conference is expected to take place after the meeting at No 6 Convent Place. This is expected just before lunch.
