GSD against Both Worlds bus route
|
The GSD opposition are questioning why a bus route has been provided to Both Worlds residents, arguing that it is an extension of route 4.
"What it in effect does, on the Government’s own admission, is go the extra and very short distance from Black Strap Cove Terminus (known as the ‘media luna’ bus stop) just beyond the Caleta Hotel, this being the last stop for Route 4, to right outside the Both Worlds reception," said GSD public transport spokesman Damon Bossino.
Whilst the Social Democrats say they have no issue with residents in Gibraltar benefitting from a bus at their doorstep, the objection is that this ‘Rolls Royce’ service should be provided to Both Worlds residents and not to the other thousands of Gibraltar residents.
He adds: Why is the Government not doing the same, namely, providing a bus route for all Gibraltar citizens who live further than a couple of hundred yards from their nearest bus stop as has been done for residents of Both Worlds? What is so special about Both Worlds’ residents? That is the real question people want answered.
