Election atmosphere in Main Street
|

As the election campaign gathers momentum all contesting parties are rapidly unfolding their policies, even though voters have not yet caught sight party manifestos, although the GSLP Liberals said they would distribute theirs tomorrow and the PDP said they would launch theirs in the afternoon. On Saturday, in the penultimate weekend before the election, Main Street was truly on election mode.
The GSLP/Lib Alliance took over the Piazza Square for a party fun day atmosphere for family and friends and anyone else wanting to join in, there was music, jumping castles and a jovial occasion which was well attended. There were also political addresses, with a big screen so that everyone could watch the proceedings from a distance.
For their part the GSD temporarily occupied the lower end of Main Street where candidates were present to explain to anyone that stopped what the GSD had to offer in these elections.
The PDP for their part set up their stand opposite the Cathedral of St Mary the Crowned, welcoming anyone to listen to their messages and handing out summary sheets of their election pledges.
