Govt wants to raise extra £18 million

The government wants to raise an extra £18 million, and has published a Bill for an Act to appropriate further sums of money for the year ending 31 March 2011.

This supplementary appropriation is for recurrent expenditure of £5.74 million and of exceptional expenditure of£2.76 million, as well as £9.3 million in respect the of the Improvement and Development Fund.

It emerges that £2.4 million is required to be approved in respect of the 'early exit deal' paid to ex Building and Works (Patio Chico) staff.
