BREAKING NEWS: Chief Minister and Opposition leader clash

The Chief Minister Peter Caruana and the new Leader of the Opposition Fabian Picardo have clashed, after the Government issued a 3-page press statement attacking Picardo and questioning his ability to be a chief minister. Both are lawyers.
The Government listed details relating to professional matters. But the Opposition quickly issued an initial response, saying that Caruana wanted to cling to power and was engaged in a dirty campaign. A detailed response is awaited.
A general election is due later this year, but the date has not yet been decided.
