Gib's strong links with City

Gibraltar has close links with the City of London, and the City has called Gibraltar a jewel to be proud of.
Speaking as part of Gibraltar Day in London yesterday, the chief minister Peter Caruana said that we shared a reputation with the City.
He told finance centre people about the new tax regime. A prudent approach to public finances had led to financial stability and 5% growth. From the beginning of next year there would be a 10% flat rate of tax.
He spoke of high standard of regulation and supervision. There was selective and careful licensing.
"We are now a low tax EU area, onshore not offshore. An EU finance centre," he said.
