Commonwealth Games - Gib in action
|
Action for yesterday centred around the pool for Team Gibraltar with all four of the swim team in action. Highlight was Jim Sanderson's 3rd PB of the Games in the 100m fly where he clocked 1:01:42 with Colin Bensadon registering 1:01:57 in the same heat, and there was heartbreak for Colin in the 400IM a little later as he was DQ for one of his turns.
Rachel Fortunato swimming at her last Games was in the water for 2 races, she was fractionally outside her own record in the 50m Back (33:58), while in the 50 free her time was 30:52, with Elaine Reyes coming home in 29:46 in th same race.
GCGA President Charlie Flower was also in action presenting medals on Thursday at the Pistol Range.
