Police arrest two Spaniards for burglaries

Following a recent spate of burglaries in commercial premises in the early hours of Wednesday, two Spanish Nationals were apprehended by the RGP as they attempted to escape from the area of Waterport Road, where they had just committed two burglaries, says the RGP.

The two Spaniards are from La Linea and Algeciras. In addition a juvenile was also arrested in connection with the burglaries.

Said the police: As a result of further enquiries carried out and CCTV footage obtained, they were subsequently charged with a total of five burglaries committed over recent weeks all within commercial premises.

The juvenile was also charged with causing damage to a cell at New Mole House Police Station.

All three were kept in cells pending their appearance in Magistrates Court.
