Hawks over the rock in air combat training

Five Hawk aircraft and about fifty personnel from 100 Squadron have arrived at RAF Gibraltar at the start of a one week air combat training exercise. The Squadron, based at RAF Leeming in Yorkshire, specialises in fast jet weapon systems training.

The Squadron’s badge shows a skull and crossbones and hence the exercise’s name, ‘Exercise Pirate Rock.’

The aircrafts’ take-offs and landings have been planned to avoid the busiest times on Winston Churchill Avenue and every effort will be made to keep traffic disruption to a minimum.
