Conflict Resolution training at Bleak House

The Care Agency has commissioned Dignified Care and Responsibility Training Ltd from the UK to provide training in Conflict Resolution.

DCRT Ltd is an organization specializing in dealing with violence and aggression in the workplace. The training will focus on Effective Prevention and Management Techniques.

Yesterday was the first day of a month long programme to be held at Bleak House.

The courses will consist of ten one day sessions for 170 staff followed by a two week Train the Trainer Course for 8 further members of staff.

The Train the Trainers Course will provide the candidates with the necessary skills and knowledge thus providing the individuals with accreditation in order to continue cascading the training to the remaining staff, to ensure all within the Care Agency receives the same teaching within the year.

The overall aim of the programme is to provide guidance to staff, which should aid them to promote preventive and protective measures in the workplace, for themselves and the people in their care.

• The Honourable Mr. Jaime Netto, Minister for Family, Youth and Community Affairs will be in attendance on the first day and present the opening address.

• Mr. Alan Benn from DCRT Ltd will be the course instructor.

• Jennie Allison, Clinical Standards Compliance Director will be coordinating the programme.

• Mrs. Carmen Maskill, Chief Executive Officer, will be in attendance.
