Airline accused of selling tickets for non-existent flight

Ricardo Ramos has alleged in Spanish media that on Sunday he arrived at Gibraltar airport to catch the 2.30pm flight to Madrid by Andalus airline. But on arrival at the airport he learnt that the said flight was not scheduled and that other passengers were equally affected.

He told Europa Sur paper that he tried to establish contact with the company , as well as a worker of Gibair who tried to help, but it seemed impossible. He is critical of the service he obtained.

The passenger says he has contacted AENA and presented a claim.

Passengers affected were able to fly to Madrid in an Andalus flight at 6.30pm, but he lost his connection with another flight to Pamplona.

He ended up having to pay 450 euros, but what concerned him most was the alleged treatment received - he could not even obtain a claims form.

Andalus director Fernando Guerrero told Cadena SER that it was not a case of the flight having been suspended due to lack of passengers, as on occasions they operate with very few passengers. He suggested that there may have been a technical error which was being considered.
