Concern about lack of safety measures

The Opposition says they would like to place on record its concern at the apparent absence of proper health, safety and security measures throughout the Health Authority.
"We believe that all the employees of the Health Authority, at all levels, should have proper protection against any act of violence or abuse, particularly in an area of Government service which is there to assist the sick and to save lives," they say in a statement.
And add: The strength of feeling shown by the staff of the Health Authority over this issue should not go unheeded by the Government or the management. The sad and tragic incident of last week has highlighted shortfalls in the security system and this should be addressed as a matter of urgency.
"The Opposition extend our hope that those injured in the incident last week recover from their wounds speedily and satisfactorily, and our appreciation to the whole staff of the GHA for continuing to carry out their duties despite difficult and strenuous conditions," they say.
