Spanish minister sets foot on British Rock

The Spanish foreign minister Sr Moratinos finally set foot on the Rock this afternoon (Tuesday). He crossed the Spanish frontier in an official Spanish vehicle, part of a Spanish motorcade, that made its way for a Gibraltar hotel.
Leaving behind the road that bisects the airport runway, he was faced by numerous UK and Gibraltar flags hanging from balconies in the large Laguna estate.
Sr Moratinos was later joined by the British foreign secretary David Miliband, who few in on an official aircraft, for tripartite talks, which also included the Gibraltar chief minister Peter Caruana.
After a working lunch at the hotel, the three delegations moved on to the top-of-the-Rock Cable Car station for the formal session of talks.This would be followed by a press conference at the hotel.
