Government has majority in Development and Planning Commission

Following a series of questions by Opposition spokesman on trade and industry Dr Joseph Garcia, it was confimed in the House of Assembly yesterday that the Government has a majority in the Development and Planning Commission.
This is relevant to the recent controversial decision over the Rosia Tanks issue, when it was announced that the Commission had given the go-ahead following a majority decision.
The priginal question was: Has planning permission been granted to OEM in respect of the following projects and if so, when - North Gorge, Buena Vista, Rosia Tanks and Cumberand Road.
Rosia Tanks and Cumberland Road have received preliminary planning permission, but no applicaton has been received in respect of North Gorge and Buena Vista.
Ministers say that they will not say how individual members of the Commission vote.
Dr Garcia asked how many sat on the Commission. In respect of voting members, this was nine.
How many are Government ministers and officials? The answer was 2 ministers, 3 officials, and one each MOD, GONHS, Heritage and Govt agency.
