Proof that Group '70 are staging a play

Group?70 will be staging the Pulitzer Prize?winning play by David Auburn ?Proof?.

Performances will be at the Ince?s Hall on Tuesday 28, Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 April. This is GADA?s spring production.

The play was recently made into a film starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Anthony Hopkins.

Group?70 has brought together young and not so young talent for the production. Tom Scott makes a welcome return after many years away from the stage. Lisanne Blagg, in her first appearance with Group?70, is a regular in GADA plays. Lindsay Hall, who has acted with Westside Comprehensive, returns to the stage after obtaining her degree ? it is her first appearance with Group?70. The fourth member of the cast is newcomer to the theatre, at least as an actor, Tim Garcia who is a singer and winner of Stagestruck 2008.

"This mixture of experience and new talent promises to be an exciting combination for this highly acclaimed play," says Joe Cortes.

It deals with the relationship between Catherine (Lisanne Blagg) and her sister, Claire (Lindsay Hall). Catherine has been looking after her ailing father Robert (Tom Scott), a brilliant mathematician who has become insane. How much of his genius or insanity has Catherine inherited? Into the picture come Hal (Tim Garcia) one of Robert?s former students. What can he gain from the work which his teacher has left behind?

The play is directed by Joe Cortes with the backstage assistance of Group?70 and GADA.
