Two men and two women and over 160,000 cigarettes

Two local male residents have been arrested by Customs on tobacco offences. A total of 100,000 cigarettes and a vehicle have been seized. The persons are currently on bail.
In a separate incident, a local woman has been arrested whilst driving a vehicle with 41,000 cigarettes. She has been charged with the unlawful transportation, possession and with being knowingly concerned in the exportation of the cigarettes. She is currently on bail until 23rd March in the sum of ?2,000.
Meanwhile at the Magistrates Court a Spanish national resident in Jerez has been fined ?1,350 after pleading guilty to possession of 20,600 cigarettes after she was arrested at the end of February after Customs found the cigarettes in a commercial vehicle.
