The cost of using Spanish ambulances

Shadow Minister for Health Neil Costa will press the Government in Parliament next week on the implementation of a routine mammography service at St Bernard?s Hospital. Mr Costa has tabled 82 questions for the Government to answer.
Mr Costa will ask Government to say in respect of the implementation of the routine mammography service, whether the clinicians have now conducted their investigations to evaluate suitable equipment. He will also want to know when the existing mammography equipment currently in use was purchased, the make, model and the cost. Mr Costa has tabled a question to establish whether the GHA has finalised its recommendations to Government to introduce new cancer screening programmes including lung, prostrate and colon cancer.
The Opposition spokesman will also ask Government whether there are currently any wards or parts of wards in the Hospital which are non-operational due to the plumbing works which are being undertaken. He will also want to know the number of formal and informal complaints which have been lodged against the GHA will ask whether Government is considering any changes to the existing system in place for the issue of repeat prescriptions at the Primary Care Centre.
Mr Costa will press Government to provide a target date for the commencement of works for the new mental health facility and will ask what sites are being considered. He will also want to know the amounts paid to all categories of sponsored patients referred to the UK or to Spain, whether as out-patients or in-patients.
The Shadow Health spokesman will ask Government to give the cost of using Spanish ambulances to transfer patients between Spain and Gibraltar as well as the number of occasions on which this has happened. He will also want the Minister to say whether the new arrangements for hospital users to be able to park at Europlaza are now operational. Mr Costa will also ask whether any progress has been made in connection with making Gibraltar the Nolan Trust?s second collection centre of stem cells.
Mr Costa has also tabled a number of questions to request statistical information on the consultation method that led to the decision to change hospital visiting hours.
