PSOE says, it too, claims Gibraltar's sovereignty
|
The ongoing onslaught in Spain against Gibraltar has now led to the ruling PSOE party saying that they claim Gibraltar.
PANORAMA has been drawing attention to a developing campaign in Spain against Gibraltar, which yesterday was enhanced when the Spanish Opposition PP said they were activating all their 'parliamentary machinery' to get the Spanish Government to act against the Rock.
The issue is to be raised in the Andalusian Parliament, in the Madrid Parliament and in the European Parliament where they will be asking the European Commission to open an investigation about the reclamation schemes of the Gibraltar Government.
PP member of the European Parliament Guillermo Galeote has now joined the bandwagon and says he will ask the Commission if it is aware of what is happening in Gibraltar and if it is assessing the
environmental impact of the reclamation schemes. Another leading light in the PP, the Andalusian secretary general Antonio Sanz said in a press conference that there was a 'clear aggression' of Gibraltar against Spain.
Meanwhile, the PSOE spokesman in the Spanish Parliament, Jose Antonio Alonso, said they continue to claim Gibraltar's sovereignty, with or without reclamation schemes.
