Two students in Commonwealth celebrations

Two Gibraltarian students, Jay Gomez and Natalia Montegriffo, took part in the Commonwealth Day celebrations held on March 10 in UK.

The programme included a tour of the Houses of Parliament and a number of lectures on the work carried out by Members of Parliament and also on the workings of the Commonwealth. The two students also had lunch in the Atlee Suite, Portcullis House with CPA Secretariat staff.

The participants then departed for Westminster Abbey, for the Commonwealth Observance. The busy day ended with the Commonwealth Secretary-General?s Reception at Marlborough House when the two students were introduced to Her Majesty the Queen Jay, who is in his second year of Law at Kingston University, and Natalia, who is a first year Accounting student at the same University, both enjoyed the day and commented that it had been a wonderful experience.
