Wanted: Free Bus Service

The Gibraltar Women?s Association says it feels that the time is right for the Government, as stated in their last manifesto, to start testing the use of free bus service for all locals.
This can easily be achieved by presenting a local I.D. card as is the case with pensioners.
A free bus service could greatly alleviate the traffic congestion and parking problems, which have reached saturation point. This would also reduce pollution and benefit the environment.
To further encourage people to use the free bus service protection from rain, wind and heat must also be provided with new bus shelters. Adequate seating for the elderly and those with young children, at every bus stop is essential, they say.
