Work of Gibraltar Services Police supported

Baroness Harris of Richmond welcomed the opportunity to talk, in the current international climate, about the continued support and recognition from the UK Parliament of the high professional standards and skills of the Gibraltar Services Police and its Staff Association.

She thanked Keith Howard the Chairman of the Gibraltar Services Police Staff Association and the executive of the GSPSA for inviting her to Gibraltar recently. She also thanked the Governor Sir Robert Fulton, the Deputy Chief Minister Joe Holliday and the CBF Commodore Matt Parr.

Baroness Harris added ?I was delighted to come to Gibraltar as a UK Parliamentarian to salute the role of the Gibraltar Services Police as a major and very necessary factor in ensuring the safety and security of not only Gibraltar but also of the UK and Europe. I thank you all for your time, hospitality and valuable insights into Gibraltar, its fascinating history and your vision for the future of this unique and important part of the world?.

Mr. Howard said: ?On behalf of the Gibraltar Services Police and its members we thank Baroness Harris, Mr. Paul O?Neil General Secretary of the Defence Police Federation in UK and Mr. James Winston and Chris McEvoy Parliamentary UK advisors for their time and expert advise and support given to the GSPSA. I would also like to thank the GSPSA Committee, the Chairman of the GSP Club Mr. Ian Estella and his committee and all the other officers and individuals who contributed in making this visit a success, well done all?.
