Road accidents over 800 a year

Road accidents in Gibraltar remain at over 800 a year, although they have been going down, from 903 in 2004 to 838 last year.
But casualties have been going up, with 198 people injured last year compared with 178 in 2004.
Going back all the way to 1975, it is clear that accidents remain close to the 1,000-mark, but in recent years this ceiling has not been exceeded.
The last deaths on our roads was in 2003.
