The Gibraltar Song Festival is back!

After 32 years, this hugely popular musical and cultural event is again being held on the Rock.

Previous winner Joe Carseni has moved heaven and earth to make this possible. Ably assisted by a hardworking committee, and the very enthusiastic support of many Gibraltarian firms and individuals, this event will again be the most important one in Gibraltar's Calendar, said a spokesman.

Over 300 entries were received and from all parts of the globe. Of these, 12 were chosen for the finals, and the Selection Committee had the devil of a time arriving at this reduced number. Obviously, the majority were received from Spain, UK and Gibraltar which has 5 entries in all. Among the 12 finalists are also songs from Chile and Venezuela.

The show is extremely well choreographed by Stylos Producer and Creative Director Lilian Montero is putting on some numbers worthy of Broadway! There will be extracts from the musicals "Hairspray" and "Wicked". In the number "It's About the Walk" we shall be seeing local beauty Bianca Chiara and creations from the incredibly talents designer Dorcas Hammond of Dorcas Fashions.

As if that were not enough, Piano Virtuoso Aaron Monteverde will play... and we shall also be seeing young artist Jesse McLaren.

So remember the date: Saturday 29th September at the Tercentenary Hall - Victoria Stadium - 9.30pm.

Tickets are on sale at Solomon Levy Estate Agent, 3 Convent Place and you are advised to get yours early for best seats!

"Gibraltar and Gibraltarians will enjoy a night to remember at the Gibraltar Song Festival!" said a spokesman.
