Removal of old Radio Tower on Devils Tower Road

Work started yesterday afternoon on the removal of the old radio tower on Devils Tower road.
In attendance were the Police to coordinate traffic initially, the Gibraltar Fire Brigade and a large crane. The tower is to be dismantled by gas cutting it into smaller more manageable pieces, once removed it will afford the Government more space to implement the beginning of the new airport road around the back of Devils Tower Camp.
Initially it was thought work would not commence because of the strong levanter winds, but the all clear was given later.
