Walk-out at Cammell Laird

Workers from the Cammell Laird shipyard yesterday afternoon staged a walk out, demanding union rights being recognised by the company.

The TGWU union has been upgrading its campaign, given the silence emanating from the company.

Workers carried placards. One read "Cammell Laird workers asking for union rights".

Another added: "No to cheap labour".

The walk-out moved on to Convent Place, with District officer Charles Sisarello out with the workers.
