Gold heart appeal success
|
1,000 badges sell out in massive support for the project.
The 1,000 Gold Hearts that went on sale Wednesday afternoon as part of the Gold Heart Appeal project, launched by Miss Gibraltar Hayley O?Brien in Gibraltar, have sold out. The response has been overwhelming with all the badges sold by lunchtime yesterday.
Hayley has expressed delight with the outcome: ?I knew people in Gibraltar were generous but the response has truly amazed me. I?m so happy with the great support received. With love certainly in the air today those who?ve bought a heart have shared their love with children in need. I never expected the hearts to sell so fast?.
The Gold Heart Appeal was launched under the auspices of the Variety Club in Gibraltar and with the support of Miss Gibraltar Producers Stage One.
Stage One Director James Neish said: ?Yesterday I congratulated Hayley for her hard work, today it?s only fitting that I thank all those who have supported the project, the response has truly been fantastic. At one point a number of Barclays Employees donated their hearts back to the appeal to raise extra money, the community has once again shown what makes us all so special?.
All the money raised will be presented at an official event with this year?s Miss Gibraltar Contestants.
