Remembrance Sunday

In accordance with arrangements approved by The Queen, Sunday 12th November will be observed as Remembrance Day and a combined Civilian/Military ceremony of remembrance will be held at The Cross of Sacrifice at noon.

The Governor and Commander-in-Chief will lead the Service and on his arrival, His Excellency will read the Bidding. This will be followed by the observance of the Two Minutes silence (to be signalled by a salvo of guns at its beginning and end). The sounding of the Last Post, the laying of wreaths and a short non-denominational service will follow. The ceremony will conclude with the sounding of Reveille and the National Anthem. In line with practice at the Cenotaph, all present are invited to join in singing the Anthem.

Wreaths may be obtained on application to The Hon Secretary of the Gibraltar Poppy Day Fund Mr S Levy (Tel 77789/42818).

Medals and decorations may be worn with civilian dress by all those entitled to do so.

Relatives of the dead may also wear them.
