Urban Dance Presents Aladdin in aid of the Alameda Open Air Theatre

Due to the great success of the Aladdin show in June and public demand to repeat the show Urban Dance shall be presenting their production of Aladdin at the Alameda Open Air Theatre for two nights only on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd of September 2006.
Proceeds from the show will go towards the Alameda Open Air Theatre as part of their theatre refurbishment program.
Tickets priced at ?10 shall go on sale to the public as of Wednesday 13th September 2006 from the Nature Shop in Casemates Square.
Over 100 people are involved, including cast and crew, and rehearsals and preparations for the production are underway.
"We are overwhelmed with the success of Aladdin, it has taken us by surprise and everyone involved is very proud of what was achieved. The show is still being talked about and we regularly get stopped and congratulated. Due to the success and public pressure to repeat the show we have decided to go for it and produce it once again for two nights only. However we have also decided to do it in aid of the Alameda Open Air Theatre who have supported us thoroughly and need finance to be able to invest in the theatre".
Aladdin is a timeless story that has been reproduced numerous times in film, print and on stage and Urban Dance will bring their own unique style of originality and creativity to the production" said Yalta Pons, Director and Principle Choreographer. Adding " ...the production will be full of colour, innovative choreographies and costumes, great sets, un-missable performances and some special appearances"
"The production of Aladdin has been in the back of our minds for a long time and we wanted to make it special, different and our own style. We have always been innovative in all our shows in terms of production, choreography, sets, sound, lights and multi-media. We opted to go back to more traditional stage and theatre techniques" said Darion Figueredo, Creative Director. " The success of the show has also been the element of surprise. The audience did not expect this high level of entertainment and production. It has been good to get a positive and encouraging opinion from the general public and project Urban Dance as a professional production team."
