4-hour power cut

There was a power cut yesterday that lasted four hours in some areas.
A switch burnt out in a sub-station in Line Wall Road which had to be replaced by another one.
The one that burnt did so through old age and load.
The town centre was affected by the power cut, which affected areas adjoining the Piazza, Line Wall Road, Irish Town etc. Bars and restaurants, other businesses and offices, even the House of Assembly, were affected.
In some areas, the power cuts started at around 11.30am, and in others, said to be the bulk, from 2pm to 3.30pm.
