Departure of Sir Adrian Johns

The Convent yesterday announced the details of the departure of the Governor, Sir Adrian Johns.

"His Excellency the Governor and Commander in Chief, Vice Admiral Sir Adrian Johns KCB CBE and Lady Johns will depart Gibraltar on the afternoon of Wednesday 13 November 2013 by air from RAF Gibraltar.

His Excellency and Lady Johns will leave the Convent on foot shortly before 11am and make their way along Main Street to the Piazza, bidding farewell to the public and senior dignitaries along the way.

On arrival at RAF Gibraltar, His Excellency will receive a Royal Salute furnished by a Tri-Service Guard, accompanied by the Band of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment. His Excellency and Lady Johns will then bid farewell to the Chief Minister and Mrs Picardo and to the Service Commanders before handing over the Keys to Mrs Alison MacMillan MVO who will be appointed Acting Governor.

The Royal Gibraltar Regiment will fire a 17 gun salute to mark officially his departure and end of service".
