Given the recent issues with power-cuts the Government has felt compelled to publish the 1999 "Strategic Review of the Electricity Department" which identified problems at the power station 12 years before the GSD left office submitted to the then Government by Manx Energy of the Isle of Man (a division, in 1999, of the Manx Electricity Authority), the report illustrates that in 1999, twelve years before they left office, the previous administration was already aware that by 2010 the engines available at Waterport Power Station would be unable to cope with demand.

Whilst the Leader of the Opposition was last weekend attending together with certain members of the local press some tin-pot university summer seminar over in San Roque, which we understand was an idea designed some 25 years ago to build relations and dialogue with Gibraltar. This year it turned into another shambolic flop!
