Incursions are now becoming a daily event and with the local authorities appearing helpless in putting an end to it. Yesterday there was another example how Spanish state vessels breeze in and out of BGTW and conduct official Spanish state business as if our waters was their own.

Spanish state vessels keep behaving as if the waters around Gibraltar are under Spanish sovereignty, and the FCO and MOD keep doing nothing about it. The public show concern. There was another incursion yesterday which could not be classed as innocent passage by any stretch of the imagination.

According to the European Union, noise levels can drastically affect the quality of life. High levels of noise can cause heart disease, cognitive problems and tinnitus while prolonged exposure to even low levels of noise can trigger hypertension and disrupt sleep. The decibel  (abbreviated dB) is the unit used to measure the intensity of a sound.About 40 per cent of the population in EU countries are exposed to road traffic noise at levels exceeding 55 db.Twenty per cent are exposed to levels exceeding 65 dB during the daytime and more than 30 per cent are exposed to levels exceeding 55 dB at night. The World Health Organisation ‘WHO’ also say that the trend is that noise exposure is increasing in Europe compared to other stressors (like, exposures to second-hand smoke, dioxins and benzene), which they say are in fact are declining.Noise is noise and if annoying noise has been implicated as a cause of ill health, all sources of such noise can cause ill health. I hope the latter makes sense?
