A new bathing pavilion will allow bathing in some style. This new sea-water bathing pavilion at GASA includes swimming pools for adults and toddlers plus exercise facilities for all ages and was inaugurated yesterday by Chief Minister Fabian Picardo.

The statements attributed to PP Minister for Europe, Sr Mendez de Vigo, have no basis in reality or fact and represent no more than a financial flight of fancy, says the Government. In fact, the manner in which he has expressed himself seems designed only to keep alive and fan the flames of the Gibraltar story, with further prejudicial language that is not representative of the reality of the situation.

International fire expert Joe Bishop takes the view that the use of flares out in the bay may not be a good idea. This comes as comment spreads that boat owners may be equipping themselves with flares to alert the Gibraltar authorities when they come under attack by the armed Guardia Civil, no doubt as they feel that there is a lack of protection out there.

Several of the inflatable waterparks installed at beaches have been damaged as a result of the bad weather conditions and severe easterly winds which hit the Rock over the weekend. Some of the units have been deflated and stored away while others which came loose and ended up on the shore, have had to be secured as best as possible.
