HMS KENT will call into Gibraltar this weekend, following an exercise in and around British Gibraltar Territorial Waters, as she sets off on a six-month deployment focusing on maritime security operations in the Indian Ocean.

Francis Buttigieg Chairman of the local branch of ‘Dignity at Work (DAWN) has spoken to Panorama on the day his organisation are holding its Flag Day and annual awareness campaign. Mr. Buttigieg spoke of ‘Dawn’ concerns regarding the allegations made by former and serving police officers of bullying and victimisation within the Police Service.

Gibraltar’s Biggest Coffee Morning was held on Friday 26th September in partnership with various cafeterias, restaurants and companies throughout Gibraltar and was a great success. Groups of friends also got together for a coffee morning in their homes and together the amazing sum of £2792 was raised for the charity!

One important piece of news that went under the public radar during the last Budget Session in Parliament was when Minister for Justice, Telecommunications and Education Gilbert Licudi made a very short comment during his address, giving notice that new legislation, called the ‘Regulation of Investigatory Powers’ will be introduced to give the police and other enforcement bodies powers to intrude into one’s life and listen, record or intercept any communication from any member of the public they deem is a dodgy person!
