In brilliant sunshine, Thomson's Battery of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment fired a 21-Gun Salute to mark the anniversary of Accession to the Throne of Queen Elizabeth II. The Mayor of Gibraltar, Mrs Olga Zammitt, was the Reviewing Officer and she was accompanied by the Regiment's Commanding Officer, Lt Col Colin Risso.

The Financial Services Commission said yesterday that following an investigation into the affairs of a number of licensed entities and persons, which in the opinion of the Commission have disclosed serious and persistent breaches of Gibraltar’s financial services legislation, licences have been cancelled. Included in the list are Benjamin Marrache and Solomon Marrache.

A Spanish national resident in Estepona was arrested by officers of the RGP Marine Section during the weekend and has appeared in court facing drug trafficking charges. It follows a chase by the Spanish customs 'Servicio Vigilancia Aduanera' into Gibraltar territorial waters of a fast launch.
