Gibraltar at Internet Gambling conference

Business people from Gibraltar will be attending an Internet gambling conference in Antigua later this month. The Caribbean island has become the Internet gambling centre of the world, and many betting and gaming companies are based there. Gibraltar's Victor Chandler said recently it was moving its US sportsbook to Antigua.
The Fourth Annual International Symposium on Internet Gambling Law and Management to be held at the Royal Antigun Hotel in St. Johns, Antigua is drawing participants from around the world. Participants hail from all parts of the Caribbean, Europe, Asia and the
Pacific, North America, South America and Africa - the Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Dominica, Belize, Curacao, Peru, the United Kingdom, Germany, Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Austria, France, Ireland, Portugal, Australia, Canada, the U.s., Malta, Gibraltar, the Seychelle Islands, Norfolk Island, South Africa and many more.
Meeting attendees will gather in Antigua, the current Internet Gaming capital of the world, to discuss Offshore vs. Onshore Internet Gaming: the Battle Heats Up. With many jurisdictions considering banning or heavily regulating Internet gaming, more and more Internet gaming operators have moved offshore to the islands of the Caribbean, Malta, Gibraltar, norfolk Island and other locations.
Which jurisdictions offer the best environments for Internet gaming? What are the pros and cons of various jurisdictions? What's the current situation and prognosis for Internet gaming in Australia (one of the first jurisdictions to legalize Internet gaming, only to narrowly beat back a recent effort to establish a moratorium on Internet gaming)? How will proposed regulatory and tax changes in Antigua affect entities operating there? Will Antigua remain the Las Vegas of Internet gaming or be replaced by other jurisdictions such as Dominica, Costa Rica, Belize, Malta, Gibraltar, Norfolk Island?
A past attendee from Victor Chandler, London, said, "A well organized and well run symposium in a good location.
